Welcome to the family

You arrive a stranger. You leave with twenty new friends and a group chat.

La Palmera is a renovated 1960s family house in Miraflores, one of Cali's most traditional — and greenest — neighbourhoods. Since 2022 it has been filling up with travellers who came for a few nights of salsa and stayed for the people.

Breakfast in the big kitchen. A hammock after lunch. Class in the salsa room at night, then the rooftop, then — 'are you coming?' — out to a club with the whole house. Repeat until your flight.

“Don't visit Cali, experience it!”

Coffee, obviously

We're in Colombia. Of course there's a café.

The house has its own coffee bar: V60, Chemex, French press, a proper tinto, cold brew for hot afternoons and cake for no reason at all.

Pour-over by day. Salsa by night.

The week is painted on the wall.
