About

The La Palmera Society.

Part hostel, part salsa school, part coffee shop, mostly family.

La Palmera lives in a spacious, traditional family house from the 1960s in Miraflores — a green, old Cali neighbourhood of mansions and gardens. It was renovated and customised for travellers, and opened its doors in 2022.

The idea was simple: don't visit Cali, experience it. So the house got a salsa room, a coffee bar, a kitchen big enough for everyone, hammocks in the garden and a bar on the roof. The walls got murals and a collection of Cali posters.

It is run with a Colombian owner's tips and tricks and a team — staff and volunteers — who really love what they do. Guests keep saying the same thing in their reviews: it feels like home.

About this website

This site is an unsolicited concept redesign made by Peashoot for the La Palmera team. It isn't the official website and it doesn't take bookings itself: every booking button opens La Palmera's real booking engine, and messages go straight to the hostel's WhatsApp or email. Photos come from La Palmera's own Instagram, its Hostelworld gallery and its booking engine.

There's always room for one more.

Live rates and availability are in La Palmera's own booking engine.
